This Privacy Policy explains how SportLink ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit www.sportlink-app.com, read our articles and sports encyclopedia, or use the SportLink web application at /app/ and the SportLink mobile app.
1. Who we are
SportLink is a sports community platform that connects players, coaches, referees, sports doctors, clubs, and academies. For any privacy question or request you can reach us at privacy@sportlink-app.com or through our contact page.
2. Data we collect
- Account data you provide at registration: name, email address, role (player, coach, referee, club, and so on), sport, city or country, and optional profile details such as a photo or biography.
- Content you publish: posts, images, short clips, marketplace listings, job posts, comments, and messages sent through the platform.
- Booking and professional data: session requests, availability, prices you publish, and verification documents submitted by coaches, referees, medical providers, and institutions.
- Technical data collected automatically: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, language, referring page, pages viewed, and diagnostic logs.
- Cookies and similar technologies: local storage used to remember your language and session, analytics identifiers, and advertising cookies described in section 4.
We do not ask for payment card numbers on this website. Where payments are supported, they are handled by third-party payment providers under their own terms.
3. How we use your data
- To create and operate your account, profile, bookings, and messaging.
- To display public content such as posts, listings, job ads, and directory profiles according to the privacy settings you choose.
- To verify professional roles and protect the community from fraud and impersonation.
- To provide customer support, send service notifications, and respond to your requests.
- To measure and improve performance, stability, and content quality.
- To display advertising on the public pages of this website, as described below.
4. Cookies, Google AdSense, and third-party advertising
We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember your language preference, and understand how the site is used. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings; some features of the site may then stop working correctly.
We display advertising on the public pages of this website, including advertising served by Google AdSense. In relation to that advertising:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices.
- Google and its partners may use the DoubleClick DART cookie (and equivalent identifiers on the doubleclick.net domain) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of the DoubleClick cookie through the Google Ads Settings link above.
- Third-party ad networks other than Google may also serve ads or measure their performance on our pages. We do not control the cookies those vendors set; please review their own privacy policies.
- Full details of how Google uses information from sites that use its services are available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Where required by law — for example under the GDPR and the ePrivacy rules in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland — advertising and analytics cookies that are not strictly necessary are used only with your consent, and you may withdraw that consent at any time through your browser settings or the Google links above.
5. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with:
- Infrastructure providers — Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, messaging, hosting) which processes data on our behalf.
- Advertising and measurement partners as described in section 4.
- Payment providers, when a paid feature is used.
- Authorities, when we are legally required to do so or to protect the safety of users.
Content you choose to publish publicly — for example a public post or a public directory profile — is visible to any visitor and may be indexed by search engines.
6. Storage, security, and international transfers
Data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure with access controls, encrypted transport, and role-based rules. Because our providers operate globally, your data may be processed in countries other than your own. No online system is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
7. Retention
We keep account data while your account is active, and for as long as necessary afterwards to meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations. You can request deletion of your account and associated content at any time via our contact page or privacy@sportlink-app.com.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We answer verified requests within a reasonable period, normally 30 days.
9. Children
SportLink is not directed at children under 13. Younger athletes may only use the platform through a parent or guardian account. If we learn that we hold data about a child under 13 without parental consent, we delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves or as legal requirements change. The current version is always published on this page with its update date. Material changes will also be announced inside the app.
